At St Matthew’s we know that not only do we connect with God through stillness, through our spiritual and emotional life, but also through stretching our brains, too. Theology is the study of ‘what we say about God’, and far from being boring armchair theory, it influences every part of our living and believing — our ‘keeping faith’ together.
Rosary Group
Our Lent 2024 Rosary group was a great success and looks like it will continue, probably fortnightly. It gathers to have a simple supper, chat, and pray the rosary together, typically on Wednesdays at 6pm. If you’d like more information, email George.Haggett@st-matthews.org.uk.
Community Garden
Our Community Garden got growing in 2023, starting small but taking on big things! We use the garden at the back of the Parish Rooms which is a part of St Matthew’s Churchyard. In addition to growing veggies and herbs, hosting socials, and sharing meals together, a group of us went to help plant hedgerows in the countryside as a part of St Ethelburga’s Centre for Peace & Reconciliation.
